At AMWAT, corporate citizenship is not a program. It is a core value. Since 2005, AMWAT has actively supported Tallahassee’s nonprofits, arts organizations, food banks, schools, and human services agencies because a strong community makes every business stronger. We are proud to be part of the collective effort to serve the needs of our city and our state, from the arts to human services. AMWAT is proud to support:American Second Harvest of The Big Bend: Since 2008, AMWAT has supported Second Harvest of The Big Bend to ensure our local food bank is well stocked and funded. AMWAT collects food from their clients year-round and hosts the annual Summer Fill a Truck when demand increases due to children losing school supplied meals due to summer break. As a result, we have donated thousands of pounds of food and dollars to the American Second Harvest. The Junior League of Tallahassee: Junior League is a nonprofit organization of women committed to improving the lives of children and families; its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. For over a decade AMWAT supported many of the Junior League’s projects year-round. Although retired in 2018, AMWAT was JLT’s biggest sponsor of the Whale of a Sale which was Junior League’s largest fundraiser since 1974, featuring gently used merchandise at low prices. All proceeds flow back into the community through their projects: Operation Prom Dress, Fostering Hope, Kids Boutique and Kids in the Kitchen.Florida A & M University: In 2008, we transported the world famous Marching 100’s musical equipment to the Presidential Inauguration free of charge. In addition to the above-mentioned organizations, AMWAT has assisted the following nonprofits throughout the years:
