Moving Valuation
We take all of the precautions necessary to ensure the safety of your belongings. We plan and prepare for relocations while double and triple checking our processes; but sometimes accidents happen. These are the unavoidable facts of life. There are steps you can take to fully protect your belonging during a move. You can choose from the two options below.
- Released value of sixty cents per pound per article.
This means that if any article is lost, destroyed, or damaged while in the movers custody, AMWAT’s liability is limited to sixty cents per pound per article, based on the actual weight of the lost, destroyed, or damaged article. This is a basic liability level and is provided at no charge. It’s usually considerably less than the average cost of the household goods.
- Buy Valuation Protection (optional).
This means that if any article is lost, destroyed, or damaged while in the movers custody, subject to the limitations set forth on the bill of laden, AMWAT will repair the article to the extent necessary to restore it to the same condition as when it was received by your mover, or pay for the costs of such repairs. Or we will replace the article with a similar article, or you pay for the cost of such a replacement, over the cost of the agreed upon deductible.
Speak with our moving manager to learn about Valuation Protection and what kind of deductible is appropriate for your situation. Many clients are covered for full valuation under their current homeowner’s policies or renter’s insurance policies. Check with your insurance company for more information. Moving Valuation is non-refundable. Please file claims as soon as possible. To do this, call our office.
